Press Conference for Families with fallen victims to Gun Violence
Rep. Susan Valdes and I hosted a press conference with families of those who have died at the hands of our Florida Correctional Institutions. We must ensure a truly just system immediately so we can prevent these situations from continuing to happen.

We’ve come to the end of another busy week of the Legislative session. Thank you to all who visited this week, your advocacy is important. It especially wonderful to end the week with a visit from Gentlemen's Quest of Tampa Inc..

Thank you to Destiny Church TLH and Pastor Jackson for inviting my colleagues and I to your church as you celebrated Florida’s Black Elected Officials. Thank you for allowing me a few moments to encourage our servant leaders that continue to represent the people.

I was honored to join NOBEL Women in Selma, Alabama last weekend to commemorate “Bloody Sunday”. Bloody Sunday is but one of the most quintessential events in the fight for civil and voting rights.

I started the week celebrating MLK Day at the 44th Annual TOBA leadership breakfast. After Breakfast my staff and I went down into the heart of East Tampa to participate in the annual MLK parade. What a great start to the week.
